The Reunion

by

Fernando Cartagena

I couldn't wait I was excited, I really wanted to get here in a hurry,

For I knew I would be seeing my good old friends, from RAF Alconbury.

I couldn't wait to reminisce, about all the fun and good times,

Like the day I looked at my room door, and there stood Lieutenant Joe Grimes.

He said, "Get up and get dressed, we're going for a ride",

And I said "Sure of course, for I have nothing to hide".

As I walked outside the barracks, my face suddenly turned red,

For there was Major Donley asking me, "What were you doing, with two women in bed?".

I said "We were talking and drinking, and I guess we got a little wasted",

He said "I bet you were, for why else would you be in there buck naked!".

I was so embarrassed that my head began to moan,

Then I realized like this trouble, I was not just alone.

There were four more like me, already waiting in the bus,

When you could hear the Commander, getting ready to cuss.

This is one annecdote, I am glad I can share,

For there are others, I'm about to spare.

Like the day in the barracks, we were enjoying the evening,

All of a sudden here comes a short man, loud, talking and swinging.

He said "Get those women outta here",

Then someone inquired "Who the hell are you?".

To which he replied,

"I'm the new First Sergeant, who just busted you".

Group Photos

After the Banquet, everyone was moved to the front side of the Grand Plaza Hotel for group pictures. From former squadron officers to flights that were represented at the Reunion. This include buddy photos as everyone was gathering. As seen 52 former squadron members can fill the front steps of a hotel.

Out & About Branson, Missouri

During the course of the weekend attendees from the reunion went out to see what Branson, Missouri had to offer.
