The association hopes members will now beginning planning to attend as we take a trip,

The Holiday Inn Riverwalk Hotel, in downtown San Antonio, has been selected as the hosting hotel.
With a flare for the local culture, be ready to be welcomed to San Antonio for the Third Reunion, Texas style.
Break out your dancing shoes. Saturday evening promises to be an evening of dining and dancing. After the Banquet there will be dancing with music provided by:

With the conclusion of the reunion, Sunday morning we get down to the association's business before our departure. This will coincide with the meeting that will be occuring on the web site via the Forum.

10th Security Police Association Reunion
You can begin to make your reservations after July 4, 2009. The National Reservation Number will then be able to see the 10th SPA Third Reunion for reservation purposes.
The cutoff date for making reservations for the reunion has been establish as May 10, 2010. There will be no waiver from this date. Any reservations made after this date will be on a space available basis.

Reunion Banquet Selections
Salad:
Riverwalk Tossed Garden Salad
Freshly tossed Garden Greens, Tomatoes, Cucmbers, and Herb Croutons served with Creamy Ranch Dressing.

Slices of Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Sonora topped with a Mushroom Demi Glace and Supreme Sauce on a bed of Wild Rice and Chef's Coice of Steamed Vegetables.

Chicken Picatta Dueted with Grilled Salmon Filet on a bed of Penne Pasta with Basil Cream Sauce and Asparagus.
(3) San Antonio Surf & Turf
Sliced Strip Loin with Chipotle Demi Glace accompanied with 3 Grilled Tequilla Marinated Shrimp, Cilantro Rice and Zucchini Mix.
Dessert
Commemorative Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce, Creme Fresche, and Blueberry Sauce and Garnished with an American Flag.

As seen through the above photo, the Texas Folklife Festival will also be occuring the weekend of the reunion. The festival will be centered at the Texas Cultural Center. The Center is located approximately one half mile from the Holiday Inn Riverwalk Hotel. This is an activity that reunion attendees can partake of the Saturday of the reunion.

In recent meetings in the Forum and the second reunion in July 2008, San Antonio, Texas was chosen as the select city for the Third Reunion. As indicated to the left, June 2010 will be the month of the reunion.
As Lackland AFB is now considered a closed base to the general public, the process of establishing contact has began. Arrangements will be secured, if possible, for a tour of the Security Forces Academy and the Security Forces Museum. The association hopes to be able to get the reunion in for a Basic Training Graduation viewing.

HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS
As indicated to the left, the Holiday Inn Riverwalk Hotel will be the hosting hotel for the reunion. Room rates have been negotiated at $89.00 per night for the reunion. The hotel is offering some amenities to assure the reunion attendees are confortable while they stay in San Antonio. The hotel is right on the river so attendees can enjoy the riverwalk at their leisure.

Group tour to Lackland Air Force Base to include the Security Forces Academy and Security Forces Museum with the possibility of viewing a Basic graduation.
Saturday, June 12th
Morning Hours-Individualized Tours
Evening Hours-Banquet, seating of new officers, and after banquet entertainment.
Sunday, June 13th
Association Meeting (09:00/am) followed by Departure Reception and Departure.

REUNION ROOM AND BANQUET RATES
ROOMS:
$89.00 per night plus 16.75% local and state taxes
Total is: $103.91 per night stay.
Total for three night stay: $311.72
Total for four night stay: $415.63
Room rates are good three days prior and three after the reunion.

Discounted Self-Parking at $8.00 per day.
Discounted Full American Breakfast Buffet at $10.00 per person.
5 Comp Parking Passes will be issued to the 10th SPA. These parking passes will be raffled to raise funds for the 10th SPA/SFSq Fund. Winners will receive their passes upon arrival at the hotel. Winners names will be forwarded to Debbie Zaeske with the Holiday Inn Riverwalk Hotel.

TRANSPORTATION
Via Metropolitan Transit
Via Metro Transit provides all the bus and streetcar services in San Antonio. If you are flying in and would prefer to use the transit system, you can order your bus and streetcar passes in advance of the reunion.
Two options were discussed with Via Metro Transit:
(1) One Day Pass-$4.00 allows you to ride the system for a full day. Your ticket is verified once you board a bus or streetcar. You will need one pass for each day of the reunion. These passes can be ordered now.
(2) Full Month Pass-$30.00 allows you to ride the system for a full month. These passes can only be purchased a month in advance. May 2010 would be the month to order the Full Month Pass.
You may purchase your passes through Via Metropolitan Transit on the internet. The below link will take you to their web site where you will find the options and the ability to make your purchase. Once there, visit the On-Line Store option.
